Thetan Arena is a new “play to earn” (P2E) game that launched late last November. Like Axie Infinity (AXS), Thetan Arena offers players cryptocurrency rewards that can eventually be converted into cash or profit, but the two games differ in several areas.
First, they belong to completely different game genres. Axie Infinity can be roughly categorized as a turn-based strategy game, whereas Thetan Arena is more of a multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) – think of Pokemon vs. Brawl Stars.
Perhaps the biggest difference is that Thetan Arena, unlike Axie Infinity, is free. Sure, you can spend money on heroes and lootboxes to speed up your earnings, but players don’t have to shell out hundreds or thousands of dollars just to play or start earning.
The first stop on your journey should be Thetan Arena’s – nbsp; web site , where you can download the game directly from its homepage. The game works on PC and even on mobile devices (both iOS and Android), so simply choose the device you prefer to play on, install and follow the on-screen instructions to set up your account.
You can also link your Metamask wallet to the account you just created on Thetan Arena. To do this, simply visit Thetan Arena’s-nbsp; Marketplace , click “Connect Wallet” and the website will guide you through the setup process. Please note that this is an irreversible process and you will not be able to change the wallet address once connected, so be sure to double check that you are linking your wallet correctly!
Wallet linking is not required for playing and earning. It will only be required for withdrawing in-game currency ( THG & THC ) and buying and selling items or heroes.
If you’ve played other MOBA (multiplayer online battle arena) games like Wild Rift or Pokemon Unite, you’ll feel right at home in Thetan Arena. The core game mechanics are very similar, right down to the controls, interface, and even some of the skills.
For those unfamiliar with how MOBA games work, don’t worry, as below is an overview of how Thetan Arena works. The game itself also provides tutorials for new players right from the start, allowing you to get your sea legs under you before heading into the storm of battle.
When the game first launches, all new players are given a free hero named Rydon (see above) with the option to earn 2 more heroes as you progress through the game. In addition to the initial 3 heroes, you can only acquire other heroes by purchasing Thetan Boxes or Marketplace spending THC. Typical of MOBA games, Thetan Arena is filled with a wide variety of heroes to suit a multitude of play styles. Each hero has their own unique active skill called Fury. Overall, there are 3 types of heroes in the game – tank, assassin, and shooter:
When buying heroes on the Marketplace, pay attention to the “gTHC Battle” stats. Each hero in Thetan Arena has a limited number of battles in which they are eligible to earn gTHC, Thetan Arena’s in-game currency. Let’s take Kong Key below as an example. Battles gTHC 200/843 means that this Kong Key has participated in 200 battles and can only earn gTHC in the next 643 games. So if you see heroes for sale that are too good to be true, pay special attention to the number of gTHC battles!
Other characteristics to look at when evaluating heroes are the Victory Bonus (the number of bonus gTHC earned per victory) and Daily gTHC Battles (the number of games in which a hero is eligible to earn gTHC per day).
All three characteristics (e.g. Victory Bonus, gTHC Battles and Daily gTHC Battles) are determined by the hero’s rarity, which is the sum total of two elements – the hero’s base rarity and the rarity of his skin. Generally, heroes of higher rarity can earn more bonus rewards for winning with greater frequency, which ultimately results in higher earnings. Also note that only paid heroes from Thetan Boxes or purchased from the Marketplace are eligible to win gTHC in battles. Free heroes, such as the Rydon you get, can be used to participate in games but will not receive any cryptocurrency rewards from them.
